Our Beliefs
The Trinity
The core of our worldview emphasizes the person and work of Jesus Christ as the foundation of Christian faith and practice. We believe in
The Trinity: The trinity is one in essence, and three in person-: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. This concept is derived from passages such as Matthew 28:19, where Jesus instructs his disciples to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Likewise, Paul’s closing benediction in his second letter to the Corinthians reads, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (13:14). The apostles also speak of the Father, Son, and Spirit cooperating to redeem a people for Themselves (2 Thess. 2:13–14; 1 Peter 1:2).
Deity of Christ
Deity of Christ: Acknowledging Jesus Christ as fully divine, the Son of God, as expressed in verses like John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Savior and Redeemer & Salvation by Grace through Faith: Believing in Jesus Christ as the Savior of humanity, who through his death on the cross, redeemed humanity from sin and its consequences (John 3:16). Understanding salvation as a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by our own works, as emphasized in Ephesians 2:8-9.
only God receives worship
Only a God received worship: The Old Testament taught against worshiping anyone other than God. If Jesus accepted worship of Himself, this would mean He believed He was divine. The New Testament reveals Jesus receiving worship on many occasions. Each time, Jesus accepted the worship. A healed blind man worshipped Jesus. John 9:38 states, “He said, ‘Lord, I believe,’ and he worshipped him.” Matthew 28:17 notes an occasion after the resurrection of Jesus when all of the disciples worshipped Jesus. We are told, “when they saw him they worshipped him. Thomas worshipped Jesus when he saw Him alive again. John 20:28 teaches that Thomas responded, “My Lord and my God!” – The Old Testament prophet prophesied about the lordship of Christ. Daniel 7:13–14, Isaiah 9:6
Resurrection & Second Coming
Resurrection & Second Coming: Affirming the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, demonstrating his victory over sin and death, as evidenced in passages such as 1 Corinthians 15:20-22. What does the death and resurrection of a man two thousand years ago have to do with me right now in the twenty-first century? The promise of the resurrection is this: What happened to Christ can happen for us. Like him, his resurrection is a promise that death is not the end. His resurrection is the prototype for our own. He blazed the trail from death to eternal life, and he tells us that we can follow in his footsteps with his hand leading us the entire way. Anticipating the second coming of Jesus Christ, where he will judge the living and the dead and establish his eternal kingdom (Matthew 24:30-31).
Lordship of Christ
Lordship of Christ & Authority of Scripture: Submitting to the lordship of Jesus Christ in all areas of life, acknowledging him as the ultimate authority and example to follow (Philippians 2:9-11). If a man wants to be saved then he must be able to unite with Thomas heartily in this creed, ‘My Lord and my God.’ Holding the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God, with Jesus Christ as its central message and focus (2 Timothy 3:16).
